Donor Spotlight
Chris Williams
Former Director of PEEC and current Board Treasurer Chris Williams, has been hard at work donating his time, funds, and energy into building a new, semi-permanent dining hall pavilion.
As many of you know PEEC has long had our “burning man” tent dining hall, which was an endeavor to put up in the fall and take down each June before summer state park campers arrived. Having to put up our 7 platform tent cabins in addition to the dining hall tent each new school year was a serious additional burden on staff.
Now the dining hall pavilion will stay up through the summer camper season - a big relief for all! Pacific Environmental Education Center would like to thank Chris and his brother Mark for building our wonderful new dining hall!
2023 NorCal Winter Charity Series (NWCS)
The NWCS is a local Disc Golf Charity Series. For each individual event, they choose a non-profit to raise money for, and since 2015, the events have collectively raised well over $100,000 for charities!
This year, NWCS chose PEEC as the recipient of the Fort Bragg Ice Bowl, sponsored by N.C.R.E. The proceeds from this event will entirely go towards camp scholarships for students, which is essential to our programming! We are very grateful to be selected by NWCS again this year, and encourage all Disc Golfers to check out their future events!
Mendocino Coast Children's Fund (MCCF)
MCCF not only helped PEEC finish our 'Driving Forward' fundraiser, but also donated 24 brand new sleeping bags to our program!
We are so thankful to have connected with such a great local community resource, and look forward to helping get more kids outside with their help!
